Modifier Flowcharts

One of the hardest things about coding your claims correctly is knowing when to use modifiers. Our Data Analysis area has developed these flowcharts to explain the proper usage of modifiers. These flowcharts are for the modifiers that we see cause the most problems. Use these flowcharts in conjunction with the information in the 2008 Indicators/Global Surgery Percentages/Endoscopies Newsletter to make proper decisions about when to use a modifier.
